The province is now providing free dental care to seniors on low incomes through the new Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program.
Laura O'Rourke, a public health promoter with Huron Perth Public Health, said the program provides a range of treatments for eligible seniors.
“Basically treatment like preventative care, fillings, extractions, check-ups, x-rays are covered, cleanings are covered and then some dentures are partially covered through the program as well,” said O'Rourke. “Single applicants must have an annual income of $19,300 or less and a couple's combined income has to be below $32,300.”
Applications to the program will be available at several locations in Huron and Perth, starting in March.
Applicants are asked to bring their social insurance number with them.
