The Supervisor at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance's Assessment Centre at the Rotary Club in Stratford says they are now able to test children between the ages of three months to two years for COVD-19.
Julie Brown says in the past, children that young had to be tested by a physician, either in their office or in an Emergency Department.
“It's just been the protocol that's been followed. Now that we have physicians working in our centres, twelve until 7:30, they are able to do those swabs on children three months to two years of age,” said Brown.
Brown adds the physicians can also check the younger ones for any other problems they might be having.
But if testing is required for infants under three months of age, parents or caregivers should contact their family doctor or visit their nearest Emergency Department.
