An estimated $30,00 was raised through the Ausable Bayfield's Conservation Dinner Auction.
This was the second year that it was held online and it ran from March 31st to April 7th.
The Conservation Dinner is a fundraising partnership of Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation and Exeter Lions Club and supports community work by the Lions Club and the Conservation Foundation.
Some of the projects include work on accessible nature trails in Bayfield, Clinton, Parkhill, Lucan, Arkona, Exeter, and Varna. Work has also been done on outdoor recreation initiatives including a family-friendly fishing derby, and a $1,000 student environmental bursary for local students.
There is also turtle monitoring in Port Franks and Ailsa Craig, and aquatic habitat studies in Old Ausable Channel at Grand Bend.
Organizers of the event are hoping the event will return to an in-person one next year.
Over the 32-year history of the Conservation Dinner, it has raised more than $1.285 million for projects in local communities.
