A devastating fire in downtown Hanover did not claim the lives of any people but several pets were killed.
The Ontario Fire Marshal completed its on-site investigation and did not find any human remains. But a number of pets including dogs and cats were confirmed to have died in the fire.
Hanover Police say the buildings were demolished for public safety and crews are working to clear the roadway and sidewalks of debris before they can be reopened.
The downtown core is expected to reopen Tuesday morning.
No damage estimate is available yet while insurance providers determine the total dollar value.
All of those displaced by the fire now have housing.
The cause the fire is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Hanover Police.
