On Canada Day, the federal government would like to pick up the tab if you visit one of its parks or historic sites.
Admission to national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas is free on Friday.
That includes Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park, Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Point Pelee National Park in Leamington and Fort Malden National Historic Site in Amherstburg.
Parks Canada administers 171 national historic sites, 47 national parks, five marine conservation areas, and one national urban park, with plans to create a second in Windsor.
"Visitors are encouraged to plan their trip in advance by visiting the Parks Canada website, signing up for our e-newsletter, downloading the Parks Canada mobile app, and following us on social media," said a statement issued by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault.
Admission is already free for youth under 18 and for one year for new Canadian citizens.
