Bruce Power launches annual fundraising initiative for the holidays

Bruce Power has launched its annual holiday fundraiser to support local toy drives and hamper programs.

The fundraising goal this year is $40,000, and the fundraiser is open to all Bruce Power employees, contractors, and the public. The fundraiser is done in partnership with United Way of Grey Bruce and will benefit multiple local organizations like Port Elgin Salvation Army, Kincardine Community Services St. Anthony’s, Walkerton Optimist Club, Tiverton and Ripley Lions, Paisley Missionary Church, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Saugeen First Nation, Women’s Shelters in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, Dorrell Young Christmas Program Bruce County, Huron County Christmas Bureau and United Way Grey County.

Tax receipts will be issued for all donations. If more than the $40,000 goal is raised, United Way will distribute the funds accordingly. To donate, visit http://www.brucepowertoydrive.com. Donations will be accepted until November 23 at midnight.

“Our annual holiday toy drive has helped to make the holiday season special for many local families through the various organizations we support,” said Dwight Irwin, Bruce Power’s Manager of Community Relations. “The need locally is once again great, so we encourage everybody to give to their fullest capabilities to ensure these fantastic community organizations can help make the season bright for countless families in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.”
