Victim Services Huron fundraiser set for Sunday

The Claybird Gun Club near Exeter will donate the proceeds from a competition this weekend to Victim Services of Huron County.

As a registered charity, Victim Services Huron works closely with police, emergency medical services, and social services to support residents during and immediately after a crisis or traumatic event.

The money generated will help the community's tragedy survivors and the volunteers who assist them. Victim Services will use the funds for items like transportation to the sexual assault centre, assistance for families in need, provision of hot drinks and food on the scene, and comfort packs for victims.

Additionally, the money pays for after-hours assistance and in-depth volunteer training that focuses on ensuring self-preservation while responding to a multitude of stressful situations. Volunteers deal with victims following death notifications, sexual assault, suicides, homicides, and motor vehicle fatalities. They also respect religious and cultural beliefs.

Shooters can pay a fee to take part in four categories starting on Sunday, June 25 at 10:00am: Skeet, Trap, Rifle, and Hand Gun. Contact Doug Moore at 519.264.3101 or presidentclaybird@gmail.com to sign up.

Claybird Gun Club is located at 71373 Ausable Line in Exeter.
