Bruce Power and suppliers support childhood cancer group

Bruce Power and its Supplier Partners have made a donation to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Bruce Power donated $60,000 to the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) and its supplier partners will kick in $37,500 to the organization.

Since 2019, Bruce Power has provided $300,000 and its suppliers have donated $238,000 to support the organization's work with children, families, survivors, and anyone touched by pediatric cancer.

“Bruce Power and our Supplier partners are honoured to support the work POGO does to improve the lives of children and families affected by cancer,” said Pat Dalzell, Bruce Power’s Executive Director, Corporate Affairs. “We are also immensely proud of our role in producing medical isotopes that are used to sterilize medical equipment and treat cancer around the world.”

“Thank you, Bruce Power and Supplier partners, for your outstanding leadership and continued commitment to championing childhood cancer care in Ontario and beyond,” said Lynne Wilson, POGO’s Chief Development Officer. “Your on-going support and partnership are instrumental in achieving an excellent and integrated childhood cancer system. We are inspired by you, who share over vision and enable informed solutions that are critical to our success.”

Bruce Power's Supplier Sponsorship Program connects the company's vendor partners with local, provincial, and national non-profit organizations that support Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans, community initiatives, and hospital foundations. In 2023, 44 suppliers raised $700,000 for the program.
