A local dog was saved from a scary situation by the Inter Township Fire Department.
On August 12, the department responded to a distress call at Spirit Valley Trail in Bognor, to rescue a dog that had fallen into a 25-foot well.
The dog, named Nala, had jumped over the fence around the well and accidentally fell in around 6 p.m. Her owners immediately called for help and firefighters arrived on-scene at 6:25 p.m.
The firefighters used an extraction tripod, and firefighter Jason Redmond descended into the well to get Nala and lift her out to safety.
The family expressed thanks to the firefighters and first responders who aided in the rescue.
"We are reaching out to express our sincere gratitude for the extraordinary efforts demonstrated by your team in rescuing our cherished dog" said the family in a statement on their social media. "Your unwavering dedication and commitment to the safety of our community are truly commendable."
