Bruce Power has made a significant donation to a local hospice in recognition of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

In a release, Bruce Power shares that the company has donated $100,000 to Huron Hospice for its “Moments Matter Even More” capital campaign.

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is October 12, and it is a day "dedicated to recognizing the crucial role of hospice and palliative care which provides relief, comfort, and support to individuals with serious illnesses."

The "Moments Matter Even More" campaign aims to support the the expansion of the Huron Hospice facility in Clinton, increasing capacity and enhancing the quality of life of patients requiring end-of-life care.

“Families turn to Huron Hospice at a difficult time in their lives,” said Willy Van Klooster, Executive Director, Huron Hospice. “When managing hospice palliative care at home becomes too complex, Huron Hospice Bender House provides the professional care that families need. The gift of $100,000 from Bruce Power has ensured that enhanced hospice care is available as close to home as possible.”

“When families face such challenging times, they need a trusted provider to offer that sensitive, compassionate and dignified care,” added John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and Media Relations, and Economic Development. “Bruce Power thanks Huron Hospice for all they do to assist their local families with essential quality palliative care in rural Ontario.”
