The Bruce Grey District Catholic School Board plans to expand its innovative Limitless Ventures program for students with disabilities.
The program is being continued into the 2024/25 school year, thanks to additional funding from the Ministry of Education’s Removing Barriers grant.
According to a media release, the groundbreaking initiative empowers students with special education needs and disabilities by dismantling accessibility barriers and providing hands-on entrepreneurial learning.
In its first year, students from Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s high schools developed and sold products like bath soaks, spice blends, and planter boxes, while gaining skills in customer service, independence, and workforce readiness.
This year, the program is expanding to include schools across the province and transitioning to the Shopify platform to enhance students' experience with inventory management and e-commerce tools.
Limitless Ventures will also continue to engage local businesses and markets while creating new opportunities for students to transition into entrepreneurship or employment after graduation.
