The Municipality of Arran Elderslie is celebrating the completion of upgrades to the Paisley Community Centre.
The latest addition brought some rural flair to the ice rink—a Zamboni designed to look like a snorting bull. Sponsored by the Bruce County Beef Farmers, the eye-catching machine is a nod to Paisley’s roots in “Cattle Country.”
The second floor of the centre now features a new elevator, enhancing accessibility. The Paisley branch of the Bruce County Public Library has moved into a bright, updated space, and a refreshed community hall is ready for bookings.
Local hockey teams, including the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs, are enjoying new rubberized flooring throughout the arena, including the washrooms. Outside, visitors will be able to admire professional gardens and summer art installations, including a street piano and the fan-favorite “Saugie” monster sculpture.
Mayor Steve Hammell said he’s thrilled with the upgrades.
“Our community now has access to a beautiful, accessible space. Community centres like this are vital hubs that bring people together and support the well-being of our residents,” Hammell added.
The Paisley Community Centre and Memorial Arena is open daily throughout the winter.
