A curling organization in Perth County is receiving government funds for facility upgrades.
Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced that the St. Marys Curling Association is getting $150,000 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation's (OTF) Capital grant stream.
The funding through that particular stream is aimed at "ensuring communities have safe and ready access to critical programming, activities, and spaces," according to a statement from Rae.
The curling association plans to complete critical upgrades to the curling rink’s refrigeration infrastructure, ensuring the facility remains sustainable.
“Community hubs such as the St. Marys Curling Club are essential to our local culture and community well-being,” said Rae. “Our provincial government, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, is investing $150,000 to support crucial infrastructure upgrades and support the curling community for years to come.”
