South Bruce OPP are investigating a recent cryptocurrency fraud that cost a victim thousands of dollars.
Police say on February 4 that they responded to a call at an address in Arran-Elderslie, where the victim reported being a victim of a fraud.
According to the victim, over the course of a year, they lost $35,000 to an online crypto company that they found an ad for online. When the victim became suspicious of the legitimacy of the company and stopped sending funds, they were locked out of their account.
Police are once again urging residents to be cautious when engaging in digital currency transactions and investments.
