Just days after five vehicles collided on a busy road north of Mitchell, provincial police have said no charges will be laid.
Emergency crews were called to the crash on Highway 23 last Friday.
No one was hurt, but the pileup kept the highway closed for several hours while Perth OPP investigated and tow trucks worked to clear the wreckage.
Visibility was reduced at the time of the crash due to wintry conditions.
Police are using the crash as a reminder to drivers to limit all unnecessary travel when winter weather hits.
"If you are already on the roadways, please reduce your speed according to the conditions and always be aware of your surroundings," police said.
The word of caution comes ahead of a major winter storm that is set to move into midwestern Ontario Wednesday evening into Thursday. It could drop between 20 to 40 centimetres of snow, with peak snowfall rates possibly exceeding 5 centimetres per hour, according to Environment Canada.
