A number of local Midwestern Ontario Business Improvement Associations were given awards at the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association awards gala.
The gala was held on Monday, March 31 in Collingwood. Angela Smith, Community Improvement Coordinator at Municipality of Central Huron, was honoured with the Jan Hawley Memorial Pinnacle Award.
That award recognizes individuals who are accomplished leaders and have demonstrated skills in advocacy, innovation, and community building at their own organizations, OBIAA, and/or within the BIA movement at large.
Also, the Town of Minto was given an Award of Excellence in Business, Retention, Recruitment and Expansion for its Move to Minto Business Attraction Campaign.
Owen Sound River District received an Award of Excellence in Special Events for the Wheel and Ride Safety Festival and Bike Program.
Central Huron was awarded an Award of Merit in Streetscaping and Public Realm Improvements for the Mural and Flower Street Art Trail in Clinton.
“On behalf of the Ontario BIA Association Board, congratulations to all the recipients of the 2025 BIA Awards for their hard work, their dedication and their passion for the betterment of their community,” said Doug Sams, President of the Ontario BIA Association.
