Huron County Paramedic Services is continuing to promote its life-saving Cool Aid Program, an initiative aimed at improving emergency medical care by ensuring paramedics have quick access to vital health information.
The Cool Aid Program provides residents with a specially designed card that contains important health details such as medication lists, dosages, allergies, medical history, and emergency contact information.
Each card comes with a magnet so it can be attached to the refrigerator, making it easy for first responders to locate during an emergency.
"The name 'Cool Aid' is a reminder for residents to keep the card on their fridge," said Jeff Horseman, Director of Emergency Services. “We believe this program significantly enhances our ability to deliver timely and informed care, especially for those with pre-existing conditions or taking prescription medications.”
Huron County Paramedic Services strongly encourages individuals, especially those managing chronic illnesses, to fill out and display the cards. Cool Aid cards are available free of charge at all Huron County pharmacies and most family health teams.
