More local firefighters participated in a cardiovascular screening event held by the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health.

The BRAVE-F sessions are meant to support local first responders by providing free confidential medical screenings and a presentation regarding cardiovascular health education for rural first responders.

Gateway Centre has now completed five BRAVE-F sessions with first responders in Huron County.

During the events, the firefighters and first responders were "engaged in cardiovascular educational sessions, equipping participants with the practical knowledge to help them safeguard their health," according to a media release from the Gateway Centre.
