Wingham and District Hospital Foundation launches Future Care Collective

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation is launching a new fundraising initiative called the Future Care Collective.

The collective, as described by the foundation's Executive Director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi, is a new "social giving club" where people can come together to help support the hospital in a more interactive way.

"You sign up for a monthly subscription, something many people are familiar with, but in this case you're going to get three exclusive invites to some fun events throughout the year, and also that monthly gift will be going toward equipment for the hospital, your local hospital," Duquette-Jutzi explained.

The membership is $50 a month. All the events are sponsored by Howick Mutual Insurance and the Wingham Sportsman Association, guaranteeing that every dollar raised through memberships and events go to the hospital.

Duquette-Jutzi says the $50 a month memberships and the three events that members get access to will vary throughout the year.

"So we'll have two events per year that'll just be about fun, connection and having unique experiences with your peers. At the third event of the year, what we're calling the 'Showdown' event, it will be a sort of pitch-style event where different departments from the hospital will pitch their department needs," said Duquette-Jutzi.

Following the pitches, members will vote on where the collective's money goes. The first event will be held on September 18, called Magic and Martinis.

"We're gonna have an adult comedy magician come and put on a show and we'll have signature cocktails, a selection of martinis. If that's not your thing, we'll have the regular stuff, as well. It is by invite only, exclusive to our club members, so if that sounds like a fun night out, it's very simple to sign up on our website, WDHFoundation.ca," Duquette-Jutzi shared.

Duquette-Jutzi says the hospital foundation wanted to find a new and unique way to bring people together in a social way to help the hospital.
