GoFundMe campaign for Central Huron teen nears $10K

An online fundraising campaign for a Central Huron teen that suffered several spinal fractures has raised almost $10,000.

Matthew Williamson was injured in a dirt biking accident on September 30, 2025. He was thrown from his bike after colliding with a dog that ran onto the road.

According to a GoFundMe campaign launched for Williamson's family, the 16-year-old was diagnosed with C6 and C7 spinal fractures.

"His medical team has confirmed that extensive spinal rehabilitation will be crucial in giving him the best possible chance at regaining mobility and independence," read the page organized by Kyla Campbell. "Rehab comes at a high cost, so we are raising funds to help cover these urgent and ongoing expenses so Matthew and his family can focus fully on his healing—not finances."

Launched about one week ago, the campaign has raised over $9,800 as of Tuesday evening.
