A Walkerton-based heavy truck and trailer repair facility is expressing its appreciation for local first responders through a financial donation.
Angela Frieburger and her son, Ben, announced earlier this week their company Marvin Freiburger and Sons Inc. is giving Bruce County Paramedic Services $1,000.
"We recognize how important emergency services are to our community,” said Freiburger. “It’s an honour to make this donation on behalf of Marvin Freiburger and Sons in appreciation of our local first responders.”
A portion of the money will go to help buy IV training equipment for skill retention and development of paramedic staff. The remaining portion will be used to purchase additional “Big Bruce” stuffed toys which provide support and comfort to children who have to take an ambulance ride.
“We appreciate the Freiburger’s generosity," said Bruce County Director of Paramedic Services Chief Steve Schauss. "Their annual support of Bruce County Paramedic Services makes a difference in the community.”
Roughly 100 full and part-time paramedics are employed by Bruce County Paramedic Services, which also has a fleet of 13 ambulances and three supervisory units that serve communities across the county.
