A busy Pollock Division quarter-finals weekend

In the PJHL Pollock Division Playoffs, both Wingham and Mitchell have 3-0 series leads in the quarter-finals.

Mitchell beat Hanover 6-1 Sunday to take the 3-0 lead in the Best of 7. The Hawks went 3-for-7 on the power play that included the first two goals of the game.  Kyle Langlois and Brett Denny scored at 17:31 and 19:19 in the first period to give Mitchell the early lead. Hanover out shot Mitchell 44-36. The lopsided scores follows two games that went into overtime including Saturday night's affair that ended up 1-0 in favour of Mitchell after triple overtime. Game 4 of the series is Wednesday in Hanover at 8 p.m.

The Wingham Ironmen have a 3-0 series lead over Walkerton after a 3-1 win Sunday night. Both teams were able to capitalize on the power play but Wingham had built up a three goal lead and Walkerton didn't score until the last three minutes of the third period. Dana Smith, Trevor Donaldson and Justin Donnelly all scored for Wingham while Trevor Fischer scored for Walkerton. Game 4 is in Walkerton on Wednesday at 7:50 p.m.

And the Kincardine Bulldogs bounced back after Saturday loss to beat Goderich for a 2-1 series lead. Kincardine scored a 7-2 win in Game 3. After the first period ended with a 1-1 score, the Bulldogs erupted for four goals in the second including two on the power play. Kincardine out shot Goderich 45-38 and will be on the road Tuesday in Goderich for Game 4 at 8:30 p.m.
