Fairwinds Lodge celebrating seniors with online contest

Most of us know a special senior that deserves a bit of extra recognition.

That's why the folks at Fairwinds Lodge Retirement Residence have launched a contest, where the public can nominate someone aged 65-plus who has made a difference in their lives.

Fairwinds Sales Advisor Jennifer Calvert said the pandemic has been especially hard on the older generation.

"We just felt that we wanted to get something out into the public, to the local seniors, just to let them know that we recognize that [the pandemic] was tough on them as well. We just wanted to bring a little joy to the community at large."

Calvert said the contest isn't limited to just Fairwinds residents. She said they've already received a number of heartwarming submissions from around the community.

Nominations are being accepted until July 12, and the winner will receive a brand new 50'' television.

To make a nomination, email FairwindsLodgeRC@siennaliving.ca.
