Three new COVID-19 cases reported in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has gone up slightly by two cases to 16.

Lambton Public Health reported three new cases and one recovery on Thursday. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 3,620 total confirmed cases and 3,542 resolved cases.

The death toll remains at 62 and an active outbreak remains in place at Afton Park Place.

Bluewater Health is caring for two COVID-19 patients, which is one less from Wednesday.

Lambton Public Health recently reported that 45.9 per cent of adult residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Meanwhile, 73.4 per cent of adult residents have received their first dose and 18.6 per cent of youth have gotten their first shot.

As of Thursday, more than 51 per cent of adults in Ontario are fully vaccinated.
