WM seeks input on proposed Twin Creeks expansion

Waste Management wants to hear what residents and business owners in Warwick Township think about the proposed expansion of the Twin Creeks Environmental Centre (TCEC).

Two surveys are being conducted to gather input as part of the landfill's Optimization Project Environmental Assessment (EA).

The community survey for people who live in the township, and economic survey for businesses operating there, will gather information about what's important to everyone, how they feel about the project and how they operate.

The input will help describe existing socio-economic conditions and determine the potential effects of the project on those individuals, and a summary will be included in the EA.

The surveys are available until September 29, 2023.

The landfill optimization could involve a vertical or horizontal expansion within the existing site, extending the site life by about 12 years to 2043.

Right now TCEC has about eight years of operating life remaining.

More information about the optimization project, and a link to both surveys, can be found here.
