A 38-year-old Sarnia man has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal copper wire from a commercial property in the city's south end.
On September 24, at around 5:10 a.m., Sarnia police responded to an alarm at a fenced compound on Confederation Street west of Indian Road South.
Police spotted a hole cut into the fence, and found a man hiding in a dumpster.
Police said a backpack sitting beside the dumpster contained wire cutters and stolen wire with an estimated value of $500.
A suspect was arrested and held for bail.
He's charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.
