Funding Hope For Community Health Study

There's renewed hope for federal funding for a Lambton Community Health Study.

Board chair Anne Marie Gillis led a local delegation to Ottawa last week where they met with Health Canada officials for 90 minutes.

They were told of a new grant process that'll be presented to the Health Study Board at its next meeting December 11.

Gillis says with the help of MP Pat Davidson, they have succeeded in having a leading government researcher continue his work with the group.

They will work to form a link with a university or academic as directed.

The study is to determine what, if any, impact Sarnia area industry is having on the health of residents.

It can't proceed without further funding.
