Anti-Wind Turbine Group Among Honourees

Plympton-Wyoming Mayor Lonny Napper is honouring nearly 20 individuals and organizations with his Community Appreciation Awards including an anti-wind turbine group.

The mayor says W.A.I.T. (We're Against Industrial Turbines), is being recognized for its hard work and passion towards a significant community outcry.

Also on the list are retiring Sarnia-Lambton MP Pat Davidson, Wyoming and Camlachie firefighter retirees and the Wyoming to Reeces Corners Trail Committee.

Union Gas is being recognized for its community work along with the Huron Shores Optimist Club, Sipkens Nursery, Bill Jackson, Wm. Johnson Construction Ltd., Cheryl Veary, the Catholic Women's League, Bill and Joan King, Chris Cooke of Huron Web Printing and Graphics and Jim and Ellen Hodgins.

The recipients will be formally honoured at a mayor's luncheon at the Camlachie Community Centre February 7.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
