SGH Developers Disappointed With Council

A group of local developers is disappointed but not surprised. Last night Sarnia City Council turned down a request to reimburse over $48,000 in costs incurred by five businessmen behind the Sarnia General Hospital Health Campus proposal. One of them, Ken Poore, says it isn't really about the money. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ken-poore-1.mp3"][/audio] Sarnia council decided last month to put the sale and redevelopment of the former Mitton St. hospital on hold. Council is still awaiting a final legal ruling on ownership of the building and the responsibilities that go with ownership.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
