Day of Mourning

An annual day of remembrance for workers killed and injured on the job. Today is the National Day of Mourning.

From 1993 to 2013, an average of 902 Canadians have lost their lives to work-related causes.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services Captain Chris Palmer says the local Day of Mourning remembrance ceremony has been moved this year.

It will be held at the Firefighters Memorial Garden at the Cliff Hansen Fire Hall on East St. at 6pm.

Captain Palmer is urging people to park near the Strangway Center or at the Church south of the Fire Hall, as the parking lot there will be restricted to those with mobility issues.
