Former Organizer Defends Float Down

A former organizer of the annual Port Huron Float Down insists the event is safe if proper precautions are taken. Erik Kimball, however, concedes there is no formal lead person or organizer for the unsanctioned event, set to take place this Sunday. A 19-year-old Michigan native drowned last year. Kimball says, despite that tragedy, the event, historically, has a good track record. New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
