Back To School

Summer vacation is officially over for students as they head back to school today.

St. Clair Catholic District School Board Director Dan Parr says student enrollment numbers are similar to last year.

Approximately 9,000 students will be back in the classrooms this year.

He says some improvements to infrastructure have been made.

Lambton-Kent District School Board Director Jim Costello says their numbers are down about 300 students, and the bulk of the decline is in the secondary level.

Costello says they have put in $10-million worth of capital work in schools over the summer, including a $2-million makeover at Wallaceburg District Secondary School with track and field facility improvements, a new fitness centre and major improvements to the library.
