Sarnia councillors have granted the owner of 166 Brock St. S., permission to delist his home as a heritage site. George Ayers originally applied in 1986 because funding was available to help preserve it. His circumstances for wanting the designation changed after the funding was withdrawn in the early 90's and he was forced to retire on a disability leave from Imperial Oil. Councillor Bev MacDougall says Vision Nursing Home has shown interest in buying the home if the designation is removed. Councillors voted 7-1 in favour of letting that happen.
