It's still unclear what a recently announced partnership between Lanxess and Saudi Aramco will mean for the Sarnia synthetic rubber production facility. The new $2.75-billion venture between the oil and energy producer and Lanxess still requires approval from relevant antitrust authorities. Unifor National Representative Glen Sonier says he's hoping to meet with company officials in the near future to learn more about the possible impact on local workers.
