Union Assessing Lanxess Aramco Deal

It's still unclear what a recently announced partnership between Lanxess and Saudi Aramco will mean for the Sarnia synthetic rubber production facility. The new $2.75-billion venture between the oil and energy producer and Lanxess still requires approval from relevant antitrust authorities. Unifor National Representative Glen Sonier says he's hoping to meet with company officials in the near future to learn more about the possible impact on local workers. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
