Funds Being Raised For Crash Victim

A local woman is appealing to the community to help the family of a 19-year-old teen in critical condition after a fiery multi-vehicle crash this week.

Christy Krohn says James Stafford of St. Clair Township is almost like a son to her and is her son's best friend.

Krohn has set up a Scotiabank account and is accepting donations for the family who has been travelling back and forth to London hospital.

She says James needs plastic surgery as a result of third degree burns to his face and suffers other injuries that may leave him in a wheelchair for at least a year.

James Stafford was airlifted to Victoria hospital Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle became involved in a crash between a tractor trailer and a pick up truck at Courtright Line and Mandaumin Rd.

The driver of the pickup, an 89-year-old Thamesville man, died later in hospital.

Those looking to donate to the Stafford family can do so by visiting a Scotiabank location and submitting to account number 808120151181.
