Agenda Includes Winter Sidewalk Maintenance

Sarnia City Council considers waiving development charges for a Habitat for Humanity build during its meeting later today.

It's recommended council decline the request to waive development charges, as well as any municipal grant to offset costs for Habitat's project on Devine St.

Mayor Mike Bradley believes funding $14,000 from a different reserve may be possible to avoid setting a precedent in the community.

The recent Environmental Assessment process at Centennial Park has changed plans for the proposed stage area to now incorporate components of the existing Dow People Place.

It's recommended council approve the Brigden Rd. speed limit be reduced from 50 to 40km/h between Lakeshore Rd. and Old Lakeshore Rd.

And the Festival of Good Things is asking to move its September event to the bandshell inside Canatara Park.

Council's public session begins at 4pm.
