CANstruction Winners Announced (Gallery)

Awards were handed out Sunday afternoon at Lambton Mall for this years CANstruction event. Best Meal went to LEHDER Environmental Services for its display of the "Leaning Tower of Pizza". Worley Parsons was awarded Most Cans with 5,800 cans in its structure "Hunger Isn't Pharoh", while Junior Outstanding Structure went to Sarnia FC. Rookie of the Year went to Real Canadian Superstore and Judges Favourite went to Point Edward OLG Casino. Residents can still vote for their favourites. The People's Choice award will be handed out on March 17. Its hoped the event will collect 35,000 lbs of food for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
