Thousands of people have tried out the new motion seating at Galaxy Cinemas Sarnia.
40 D-Box seats were installed in the top two rows of the UltraAVX auditorium at the theatre earlier this year.
General Manager Mandy Millar says the seats move in synchronization with what's happening on the screen.
"The D-Box motion code is embedded into the movies, frame by frame, by the D-Box motion designers," said Millar. "It's a painstaking process that can take up to 400 hours, per movie."
While the seats pivot, vibrate and move back and forth, Millar says you can control the intensity.
"Each seat is equipped with individual intensity controls that allow movie goers to increase or decrease the motion effects based on their preference."
Millar says the seats are very popular and have been selling out quickly because there aren't as many of them.
"It's definitely something different and it's definitely the way forward and one of the newest technologies in cinema today."
A general admission ticket for the D-Box seat is $21.99, $6 more than a general admission ticket for the other seats in the UltraAVX auditorium.
