A new website has launched, making it easier to provide feedback on City of Sarnia business.
Smartsarnia.com will provide an online opportunity for citizens to engage in municipal decisions.
Director of Planning, Building and By-law enforcement Alan Shaw says the city has been looking at ways to further engage with the community as a whole.
"Previously we would send mailouts and canvass areas where development was occurring and we would put items in the newspaper," says Shaw. "This actually provides the ability for people to go on and provide comments and responses back in a more timely and convenient manner."
Shaw says right now they are just posting specific projects for public input.
"The web page is dedicated to the Kinsmen Centre, the tree by-law and the urban plaza that are currently within the planning department portfolio," he says.
The clerk's department is looking for feedback to be included in a communications and engagement strategy.
Residents will still be able to use traditional methods for public input, like telephone calls, writing a letter or visiting city hall.
