A Sarnia printing company is looking to send some holiday cheer to Canadian troops overseas.
Christmas may still be few months away, but Melissa Chong of Haines Frontier Printing is determined to deliver at least one festive card to every member of the Armed Forces who won't be home for the Holidays.
"It's a great way to acknowledge what these men and women are doing for us," says Chong. "Sending a note to someone around Christmas when they can't be with their family, it's a very kind gesture."
Along with Ron Prior of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a couple of local photographers, the family owned printing company has developed 7,000 cards for the 3,600 active members overseas.
So far in the campaign's first year, the response has been very supportive. The campaign got underway the first week of September and Chong says they're almost out of cards. Their goal is to get the cards out to the community and have them back to the legion by the end of the month.
Cards can be picked up at Blackburn Radio Sarnia on London Rd., at Haines Frontier Printing at 320 Talfourd St., and should be returned to the Sarnia Legion by October 2.
