Wrestling returns to Sarnia

Destiny World Wrestling is coming to Sarnia this fall as part of the "Raising Hell" tour.

The event features wrestlers including three WWE stars in Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, and Tyler Bate.

Organizer Arron Sisson said wrestling events have been popular in Sarnia in the past.

"I've put on five over the past year in Sarnia, and I'm really just trying to grow a wrestling scene here in Sarnia," said Sisson. "I've had some success doing it. There was an angle with Councillor Brian White that went over really well. I had a lot of help in creating that. I'm having a lot of fun with it and I'm hoping to grow it bigger and bigger."

Sisson said he's been a lifelong wrestling fan.

"I remember sitting out front of Blackburn Radio. I didn't have enough money to get tickets to the WWE event, and I made a sign and dressed up like a wrestler. The sign read "K106.3 send me to WWE at the SSEC. I ended up getting some tickets. That's always a memory that I've remembered," he said.

The event is being held October 5 at 7:30 p.m. at River City Vineyard.

Tickets are available at www.destinyworldwrestling.com, and at Philly Cheese Jake's and Cheeky Monkey.
