Cool and wet start to week in Sarnia-Lambton

The second week of September will get off to a cool, wet and windy start.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement early Sunday.

Forecasters say the remnants of tropical depression Gordon will affect Sarnia-Lambton beginning Sunday evening and continuing Monday.

Total rainfall amounts in the range of 20 to 40 millimeters, about an inch to nearly two inches, are possible by the time the rain tapers to scattered showers Monday night.

East winds will gust to 50 kilometres per hour.

After a very hot and humid start to the school year last week, conditions have become unseasonably cool.

The temperature at Chris Hadfield Airport dropped to 9.8 C, 50 F, at 4 a.m. Sunday.

A high of only 18 C, 64 F, is forecast for Sarnia Monday.
