The Sexual Assault Survivors Centre and the Women's Interval Home are looking for a new Executive Director. Michelle Batty will step down in April of 2019. Board President Georgette Parsons said for the past 27 years Batty has stood up against violence in all forms, working for the men, women and children in our community. "She had been a local, vocal force in this community, always advocating for women, children and men," said Parsons. "We were one of the first crisis centres, actually, that did provide services to men." Parsons says Batty represented Sarnia-Lambton SASC and WIH, networking with provincial and federal government organizations. "Her path of advocacy and change, giving a voice to all victims, led her to successfully impact changes in legislation. She has worked tirelessly in the anti-human trafficking movement for the past 12 years. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to an amazing woman who, in fact, did change the world we live in." The Board hopes to have her replacement named two months prior to Batty's retirement.
