Sarnia police say a lingering property dispute prompted a brief shelter-in-place in and around Aamjiwnaang First Nation Tuesday afternoon.
Three people were arrested at around 4:30 p.m. after officers had responded to a weapons call in the 800 block of LaSalle Line near Scott Road at about 3:40 p.m.
It's alleged the suspects produced what appeared to be firearms, pointed them at the complainants who then left the property and called police.
The site was contained and residents and businesses in the surrounding area were asked to stay inside until the all clear was given at about 5 p.m.
Members of the emergency response team and the community patrol and criminal investigation branches also responded.
Criminal investigators returned to the Lasalle Line residence Wednesday morning to execute a search warrant and seize evidence.
It was determined the firearms were replica pellet guns.
The three accused are facing the following charges:
1) Brendon Mitchell Kincaid, 22, of Sarnia faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, and one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
2) Brett William Kincaid, 23, of Sarnia faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, and one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
3) Christina Jane Williams, 52, of Sarnia faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence, one count of failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of breaching probation.
