There's another change at the helm of the department overseeing Sarnia's finances.
BlackburnNews.com has learned that finance director Suzanna Dieleman has resigned, just 17 months into the role.
Corporate Services General Manager David Logan said Dieleman made her decision shortly after the corporate services department was realigned to include the finance department.
"We're pleased to announce that Holly Reynolds accepted the position of acting city treasurer effective July 6," said Logan.
He said Reynolds was promoted to the role from the city's accounting department.
"She was employed for the past year-and-a-half, leading the accounting team and responsible for the city's payroll, accounting and budgeting functions. She joined the city following a fairly extensive career in financial reporting, accounting, policy and interim controls for a number of large public companies."
The City of Sarnia lifted its COVID-19 hiring restrictions for full-time and permanent positions in July and Logan said they're now moving forward with a "fairly robust recruitment strategy."
"There was approximately 20 full-time positions that were formerly being held back and we are moving forward as required," said Logan.
Logan said the pandemic has created a very strong applicant pool for the positions currently posted.
