After nearly doubling last week, Sarnia-Lambton's active COVID-19 case count has dropped by eight over the weekend from 32 to 24.
Lambton Public Health's daily update Sunday showed the number of confirmed cases unchanged at 447, with 397 considered resolved, up four.
There were six recoveries reported Saturday and two new cases.
On Sunday Bluewater Health reported that there are now three COVID-positive patients in hospital, up from two Saturday. Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said the most recent patient is a 79-year-old woman who was admitted from the community. Two of the three patients are in intensive care.
The Lambton Kent District School Board reported on its website late Friday that there's a confirmed case involving a student at Petrolia's Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute. (LCCVI) The school remained open.
There are two outbreaks ongoing at the NOVA Chemicals cracker expansion project at Corunna and at the Shell Canada plant in Corunna.
Ontario recorded one-thousand-677 new active cases of the virus Sunday as well as 16 more deaths.
