COVID-19 outbreak declared at North Lambton Lodge in Forest

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared after a resident at North Lambton Lodge in Forest tested positive for the virus.

Lambton County Long-Term Care Division General Manager Jane Joris said people living in the long-term care home and their families were notified Thursday and Lambton Public Health has declared an outbreak for residents living in the Pine Lane area only.

Joris said the resident has been out of the home for several days in hospital, where the test was taken.

"No other residents are currently showing symptoms," she said in a news release. "Testing of residents living on Pine Lane will occur immediately and staff testing is ongoing."

"Our focus, as always, is on the well-being of the people who live at North Lambton Lodge and their families. We are actively working with Lambton Public Health and following the guidance provided to us, in addition to diligently following the protocols and procedures put into place by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long-Term Care."

There are 88 residents at the long-term care home and 120 staff members.
