Police charge two drivers with impaired following crashes

An alleged drunk driver lost his licence for three months after a single vehicle crash Sunday evening.

Sarnia police said a vehicle was travelling west on London Line near Brigden Side Road at about 6:15 p.m. when it entered the ditch, landing on its side.

Firefighters with Sarnia Fire and Rescue were able to remove the trapped driver, who did not sustain any significant injuries.

Police said while speaking with the driver it was determined he was impaired. He was arrested and a breath sample at police headquarters indicated he was three times over the legal limit.

The 33-year-old Marthaville man is charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for a week.

He's scheduled to appear in court on March 30.
