Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 incidence rate has decreased for the fifth week in a row.
Lambton Public Health reported Wednesday that the rate of infection per 100,000 population was 57 for the week of April 18 to the 24, down from 59 the week before. The positivity rate increased from 1.9 per cent to 2.1 per cent. The incident rate topped-out at 160 per 100,000 population last month.
There were 19 new confirmed cases for a total of 3,217. Of those, 3,083 are considered resolved, an increase of 10, which means the active case count climbed by nine to 78.
The number of workplace and institutional outbreaks is unchanged at four and Bluewater Health still had 10 positive patients in hospital.
To date, 45,341 Lambton residents have received a COVID-19 vaccine, including 2,599 second doses. That's 39 per cent of the eligible population.
