Another chance to purchase hard copy of The Streets of Sarnia Project

Sarnia residents interested in the history of city streets have another chance to purchase The Streets of Sarnia Project.

The city's Customer Service Manager Andrea Lane said another version of the popular book has been printed.

"We have about a hundred, or so, copies left of the 2020 updated version of The Streets of Sarnia Project book," said Lane. "It contains some information on about 20 different streets from the 2018 first edition and they are available, while supplies last, in city hall customer service on the first floor."

Lane said the book is a great Christmas gift idea if you have a Sarnia history buff on your list.

"It is historically based on research into the persons, families, places and circumstances behind many of Sarnia's city street names and it would be an excellent coffee table book for the holidays."

Lane said a limited number of books are available for $10 each.

"We were asking for a limit of one copy per person, just because it was such a popular item with the first printing and thankfully, based on a donation from the Sarnia Historical Society, we were able to have another printing done of the books and we were hoping that everyone could have a chance to get one."

The first book took Randy Evans and Tom St. Amand three years to compile and sold over 500 copies.

Nearly 600 residents assisted them in their research of over 700 street names.
